A local authority in Wales, UK, is not going to spend $7500 on a parking survey. Read about it here.
Someone thought it would be a good idea to call in a consultant. Cooler heads prevailed when another councilman noted that he parked in the area in question twice a week and had never had a problem finding a parking space. Plus, even if they did the survey and changes were recommended, they didn’t have the money to make the changes.
Now this may seem shortsighted to some of you, but frankly, it seems reasonable and right. There is no perceived problem, no money to fix it even if one was found, so why study it.
Our state and federal government could use a little bit of this Welsh common sense.
